Here are the answers to the most common questions we receive about franchising with New Zealand Natural.
Q. How much does it cost to open an NZN store?
A. The cost of opening a new NZN store will vary depending on a number of factors. Mainly, the size of the premises, the contribution from the landlord (if any) and the location. Generally it can cost between $150,000 and $250,000 to open a new store.
Q. Do I need to work in the store?
A. Yes! It’s important that you understand all aspects of operating a New Zealand Natural shop. Once you are comfortable in the business and the store is operating smoothly, then it’s possible that you can reduce the number of days/hours your working on the floor.
Q. What are the weekly fees for being part of the franchise?
A. The franchise royalty is 6% of weekly net sales. The contribution to the marketing fund is 3% of weekly net sales.
Q. Are there any upfront costs to join the franchise?
A. There is a new franchise fee of $5,000 to join the franchise network. Additionally, you will have your own costs such as legal fees and accounting costs. There may be other fees involved, however we will work closely with you on an opening store budget.
Q. How long does it take to open a New Zealand Natural store?
A. The timeline to open a new store varies depending on the site availability. Generally, it’s between 16-20 weeks, however sometimes it’s more, sometimes less.
Q. How long is the training program for new store owners?
A. Our training program is 2 weeks before your store opens and 2 weeks after it opens. This is mostly hands-on, in store training the 2 days of classroom/theory training.
